Android ONLY: My ColorReader / ColorReader PRO / ColorReader EZ used to connect to the ColorReader app in the past - now it does not connect
You have allowed the use of location services / nearby device search (from Android 14) during the installation of the ColorReader App. This enabled the connection to the ColorReader / ColorReader EZ / ColorReader PRO.
Now, you are unable to connect to your ColorReader / ColorReader EZ / ColorReader PRO with the ColorReader App.
The most common reason for this is:
If you do not use an app for a while on newer versions of Android, Android removes permissions that were once granted to an app for security reasons. As a result, the ColorReader App can no longer access Bluetooth.
Normally, the system should notify you when permissions are revoked due to inactivity. However, such notifications often list multiple apps, and the message is not always easy to understand. Therefore, many users disable these notifications.
Solution to the problem:
Please go to Android Settings -> Apps and allow the ColorReader App to access location services / nearby device search again.
Tip:
You can also disable the removal of permissions for individual apps in Android. Do this for the ColorReader App, and this issue will not occur. You can do this in Android Settings -> Apps under the permissions for the ColorReader App.
