This means fan decks have not been synced to the device. The user needs to use the mobile app to sync the desired fan decks.

If a user wants to use the device in standalone mode and smartphone mode with the same fan decks, the user needs to go to the Change Fan Decks tab in the Readings screen and select the same fan decks that have been synced to the device to see the same results on both; the display and the mobile app. 

Every time you sync a fan deck, it deletes the current fan decks already on the device. The user will have to select the fan decks again, if they want to keep them on the device along with any additional colors they want to add.

To change from fan deck results to CIE L*a*b* results, begin the fan deck syncing process with random selections, but close the app immediately after starting to sync. This disruption clears all fan deck information from the device.
